Abstract

Neonatal kidney varies from adult in that contour is lobed and the collecting system is echo poor apparent unlike echogenic inapparent adult kidney. Ureteric notching leading to ischemia is due to enlarged collateral vessels. The vascular impressions on the ureters were due to either venous obstruction or to dilated noncollateral veins. In case of angiography in athermanous renal artery stenosis. There is an eccentric narrowing of the proximal third of the renal artery while in fibromuscular hyperplasia, there are segmental areas of stricturing and aneurismal dilatation affecting the distal two-third of the renal arteries. Chronic renal infarction is divided into primary uroradiologic elements like size, contour and secondary uroradiologic elements like nephrogram, increased echogenicity. Due to previous severe trauma involving the renal artery or renal vein thrombosis, the collecting system does not usually opacify during excretion urography in renal infarction.
