Optical Coherence Tomography in Current Glaucoma Practice: Pearls and Pitfalls

Optical coherence tomography is a multifaceted tool in the management of glaucoma. Optical coherence tomography has been used in various aspects of diagnosis and follow-up in glaucoma patients. The practical manual serves as a guide to the judicious use of the OCT for the diagnosis of glaucoma looking at each aspect of OCT imaging—RNFL, optic nerve head, macular, ganglion cell complex and the anterior chamber angle. The advantages and fallacies of OCT are discussed with several clinical examples for an easy learning experience. Common pitfalls in OCT imaging and interpretation are mentioned along with an extensive review of literature. The reader will benefit from this practical manual and gain expertise in the use of OCT for the diagnosis and progression of glaucomatous optic neuropathy.
