The book titled “The Link: Pediatric History-Taking and Physical Examination” is written to assist the medical students to become good pediatricians by performing the interaction with the pediatric patients for history taking and the physical examination. This book helps the student analyze, form hypothesis, test and question the hypothesis and retest with analytic and critical thinking in history-taking. The book is divided into 5 sections that contain 14 chapters. Section 1 discusses the rationale of the pediatric history, history of the presenting problem and the past medical and surgical history, review of systems, history of pregnancy, delivery, and the neonatal period, other components of the pediatric history, clinical links relevant to breastfeeding, immunization and analysis, and deduction in the layout of a complete pediatric history. Section 2 explains about the approach to the pediatric physical examination and layout of a complete pediatric physical examination. Section 3 is discusses on the newborn and formulation of differential diagnosis. A comprehensive knowledge on provisional diagnosis is given in the section 4. Section 5 is about the factual knowledge. This book is dedicated to medical students to understand the condition of the pediatric patients.
