Abstract

Interventional methods opened up new avenues of management for the pediatric cardiologist. Ventricular and atrial septal defects are the most common in CHDs. Shunt lesions include the patent ductus arteriosus, aortopulmonary window and coronary–cameral fistula. ASD describes the size of the defect and relative compliance of the right and left-sided cardiac chambers and occurs in the third and fourth decade of life. It can be determine by ECG and TTE shows three types of views: subcostal bicaval view, 4-chamber view, parasternal short-axis view. In addition ASD describes current use and challenges. PDA is successful surgical treatment of CHD. It can be evaluated by Gibson’s murmur and echocardiography. In addition PDA explains the current use, amplatzer ductal occluder, coil occlusion, challenges and controversies. VSD classified into inlet VSD, muscular VSD, perimembranous VSD and conoventricular VSD. It can be evaluate by echocardiography and also explains the history, closure of muscular ventricular septal defect, closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defect and special situations in ventricular septal defect.
