Abstract

Robotic surgery is the normal movements associated with the surgery on a telemanipulator which are translated through the robotic arms to carry out the movements using end effectors and manipulators to perform the surgery inside the body of patient. It is explained by the Da Vinci telemanipulation system consists of a master console used by the operating surgeon for controlling the microinstruments, which are mounted on the surgical cart and has three arms. RACAB is step wise approach for robotic surgery. Da Vinci telemanipulation system approach for both left internal mammary artery and the right internal mammary artery can be done from the left pleural cavity. In addition, it explains robot-assisted minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass surgery, open chest robotic anastomosis, totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass on arrested heart, totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass on beating heart, robotic coronary artery bypass grafting as part of hybrid coronary intervention, robotic atrial septal defect surgery and robotic mitral valve surgery.
