Abstract

This chapter discusses about the medicolegal and ethical issues in cardiology practice. There is an allegation of misconduct against doctor defenses in professional misconduct such as duty of care/standard of care, accepted practices, difference in opinion, error of judgment, accident/mishap, guarantee and warranty, fraudulent concealment, vicarious liability and informed consent. It is important to know that the standard of care that is required of us as medical professionals. There is also a need to understand the laws that are applicable to medical practice to safeguard ourselves.
