The chapter gives a brief account on role of psychosocial factors and relaxation techniques in the etiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. CVDs are epitomized by myocardial infarction and stroke, are the leading causes of death globally. The etiological web for CVDs is complex and is composed of biological, environmental, psychosocial and behavioral factors. Psychosocial variables implicated in the etiology and prognoses of CVDs are broadly divided into two categories such as psychological stressors and emotional factors. The emotional factors associated with CVDs are depression, anger, hostility, anxiety, and locus of control and sense of coherence. The chapter briefly discusses about the ideal cardiovascular health and behavioral cardiology and positive psychological well-being and relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga and meditation, transcendental meditation, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), music therapy and ultimately three Es determine the life healthy heart for hearty health.
