Pituitary gland is a tiny pea-sized organ that is located in the sella turcica which is connected by the pituitary stalk to the hypothalamus. It is also called as the hypophysis. The epidemiology of hypopituitarism discusses about the incidence and prevalence in the UK and in India. Etiology discusses about the acquired causes of hypopituitarism. They are: infections and inflammations; trauma; neoplasia; vascular; infiltrative diseases; autoimmunity and Empty Sella syndrome. Etiological profile in India gives information on clinical features, and diagnostic evaluation. The last topic describes about the management of hypopituitarism.
