Abstract

The term type 3 diabetes is yet to be endorsed by different statutory agencies and the topic itself is an arguable one. Sometimes this condition is known as “double diabetes” or “hybrid diabetes”. They found that the hormone insulin is not only produced in the pancreas, but in the brain also. And this is the reason why the condition is also referred as “brain diabetes”. In order to keep the brain cells functioning and alive, the brain produces insulin. Endothelial cell dysfunction plays a vital role in the development and progression of cardiovascular and other diseases. Type 3 diabetes is also believed to be linked to this process. Type 2 diabetes doubled the chance of a patient having dementia and patients on insulin had four times the risk. The relation was strongest with vascular dementia but was also detected with Alzheimer’s disease. Further, possible treatment of type 3 diabetes and controversy of type 3 diabetes is also highlighted.
