The book ‘Nursing Foundation: Concepts and Perspectives’ is written for the post basic level undergraduate nursing students. This book will help them to learn the current concepts involved in practice of nursing and the developments in nursing profession. It comprises of seven sections with twenty four chapters. Each section is highlighted with one of the major domains of nursing foundation. The first three sections discuss about the concepts of nursing, nursing practice and health and it also deals with the roles of various regulatory bodies in nursing. Nursing process approach is elaborately described in the fourth section; it is one of the important features of nursing practice. Section five has been covered with number of nursing theories like Florence Nightingale environmental theory, Levine’s conservation theory, adaptation theory, etc. The section six consist of three chapters, addresses the trends in nursing practice and education, ethical issues and legal issues in nursing practice. The quality assurance and total quality management are included in last section, which is helpful in knowing the concepts and perspectives of nursing foundation. Each chapter in this book is provided with key points, essay type questions, short answer questions and multiple choice questions.
