The book \"Minimal Access Skull Base Surgery Open and Endoscopic Assisted Approaches\" focuses on endoscopic procedures, which are mostly utilized through natural openings in the nose, as well as secondarily exposed corridors for minimal access approaches to the skull base. This book is divided into six sections and thirty-one chapters. These six sections highlight the general concepts of skull base surgery, management of common skull base lesions, and the major corridors for approaching the skull base in a minimally invasive manner. The main objective of this book is to provide neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, and any healthcare providers such as nurses, physician\'s assistants, residents, and fellows interested in the topics covered here, with a broad understanding of the potential minimal access approaches to various skull base compartments using natural and secondary windows in the head. General section discusses about the \'dilemma\' of modern skull base surgery: selecting the correct approach, imaging of the skull base, surgical pathology of the skull base and anesthetic requirements and pearls for skull base surgery. Section two highlights the importance of transorbital and supraorbital approaches. Under the heading of transnasal approaches, it explains about surgical anatomy for endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery, transnasal endoscopic assisted transcribriform approach to skull base lesions, endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal and transplanum approach and endoscopic endonasal transpterygoid approaches. For each and every approach, illustrative cases are discussed. Transoral approaches, management of selected skull base lesions and skull base reconstruction and postoperative management are explained.
