Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to introduce the catheter-based thrombectomy and thrombolysis with examples. Peripheral artery disease or peripheral arterial disease is a common health problem that affects the circulation. Thrombosis can be the etiology for an occlusive disease that affects not only arterial segments but also the venous circulation. Treatment for thrombotic disease varies and includes mechanical, pharmacologic and combinations of these modalities. In this chapter, five cases are described as an example. The first case discusses axillary bifemoral, left femoropopliteal graft thrombolysis and possis. The second case gives a description of possis device. Possis Native Vessel is described in the third case. The fourth case gives the description on thrombolysis graft. Thrombolysis of vein is discussed in the fifth case.
