The book titled "Pediatric Dentistry for Special Child" is made an attempt to provide comprehensive information about dentistry for children with special needs. It covers a wide range of conditions, including learning, physical, medical, and genetic disabilities. The book is divided into 35 chapters across 8 sections, covering Basic Concepts, Intellectually Challenged, Physically Challenged, Medically Challenged, Genetically Challenged, Emotionally Challenged, Learning Disabilities, and Pharamacological Behavior Management. Section 1 discusses on basic concepts. Mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism are the intellectually challenged disorders discussed in section 2. Likewise, this book covers wide range of conditions from physically challenged diseases, i. e., hearing impairments, visual impairments, etc to medically challenged (cardiovascular disorders, respiratory disorders) disorders. It also includes management of children with emotional and behavioural disorders, and learning difficulties. The final section entails pharmacological behaviour management in dentistry for children with special needs, including chapters on pre-medication, nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation sedation, general anaesthesia, and pediatric dentistry in hospital. Each chapter in this book provides management strategies, relevant to a particular pediatric disability.
