Abstract

This Chapter deals with specific details of the epidermal noncultured cell suspension in vitiligo procedure. Harvesting a skin graft, trypsinization and cell separation, dermabrasion of the recipient (vitiligo) site and transfer and fixing of melanocyte rich cell suspension are the four basic steps of noncultured cell suspension method, which are discussed in detail. Noncultured cell suspension method has established itself as an effective and safe method of treating vitiligo and has replaced split skin grafting in many centers. The several modifications introduced over the last few years have enhanced its utility. Postprocedure instructions and onset of pigmentation are also discussed in this chapter. A well-illustrated table on modifications of the procedure for specific acral area and 14 well-colored figures are also presented in this chapter.
