Community is a group of people with common characteristics or interests living together within a territory or geographical boundary. Community health refers to the healthy status of the member of the community to solve the problems affecting their health and to the totality of a health care provided for the community. Community health nursing identifies the problems of the community, supports community participation, preserves health, and improves health. Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Many national health programs are listed like National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTCP) 1962 and Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP). Other topics discussed are epidemiology, important communicable diseases, family planning methods, primary health care, five-year plans, health problems in India, national health committees, and awareness days or health calendar.
