Abstract

Echocardiography has revolutionized the diagnosis and management of congenital heart diseases (CHDs). A thorough clinical examination and an accurately performed transthoracic echocardiography are the essential steps in approaching CHD which can be downright simple to very complex ones. There are no set rules to diagnose a condition and it is very important to follow a systematic approach in order not to miss any finding. This chapter covers the sedation protocol, basic rules, and echocardiographic views.
