Abstract

Asthma is a common differential in a wheezing child. Prevalence and severity of the disease depends on both genetic and environmental factors. Silent chest is indicative of severe grade of asthma when compared to usual noisy chest. Various clinical scores have been devised to stratify the disease progression and fine tune the therapy. Early and effective management is necessary for prevention of disease progression. Bronchodilators play major role in treatment, though few children became sick enough requiring intensive care and support.
