Abstract

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a relatively common neonatal surgical condition resulting from a defective development of diaphragm causing abdominal organs to herniate into thoracic cavity causing increased intrathoracic pressure with major morbidity related to associated pulmonary hypoplasia and pulmonary hypertension. This is considered a neonatal emergency and the successful management requires medical stabilization prior to surgery
