Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to introduce the imaging of benign tumors of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Amongst the head and neck tumors, sinonasal (SN) tumors are relatively rare. Malignant lesions are encountered more frequently than the benign entities. This chapter covers the benign epithelial tumors, borderline/low malignant potential soft tissue tumors, benign soft tissue tumors, benign tumors of bone and cartilage, benign germ cell tumors, and miscellaneous entities. Papillomas arise from the Schneiderian mucosa of the sinonasal tract (which is of ectodermal origin). Giant Cell Lesions include giant cell tumors (GCT), giant cell reparative granuloma (GCRG), brown tumors, and aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC).
