The aim of this chapter is to focus on the surgical perspective of pediatric sinonasal disorders. This chapter covers the congenital malformations of the nose, rhinosinusitis, chronic adenoid hypertrophy, and specific lesions. Congenital malformations of the nose may be categorized as developmental errors of the anterior neuropore, errors of central midface, and errors of the nasobuccal membrane. Rhinosinusitis is an inflammatory condition of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Common cold caused by viruses is the most common form of rhinosinusitis. Following viral respiratory infection, mucosal edema, and obstructed sinus ostia along with hypofunctioning of the sinus ciliary function leads to stasis of secretions in the sinuses. Symptoms and signs of sinusitis appear when these sinuses become secondarily infected by bacteria from the nose and nasopharynx.
