Antimigraine agents are used to treat migraine headaches. Migraines are different from other headaches because they occur with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light. This chapter covers the flunarizine, naratriptan, rizatriptan, ergotamine, caffeine, and flupirtine along with their indication, dose, contraindication, precaution, adverse effect, and drug interaction. Migraine, vertigo, vestibular disorder, peripheral and cerebrovascular disorders are the indications of flunarizine. Pregnancy, lactation, gastrointestinal or urinary tract obstruction, and acute porphyrias are the contraindications of flunarizine. Acute migraine attack is the indication of rizatriptan. History of myocardial infarction (MI), peripheral vascular diseases, transient heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, basilar or hemiplegic migraine, and severe hepatic or renal impairment are the contraindications of rizatriptan.
