Abstract

Pressure ulcer is the erosion of tissue due to continuous pressure exerted in body prominences. Risk factors for developing pressure sores in medical conditions, impaired mobility, and significant changes in weight are described. Risk factors for developing pressure score in medical condition are Neurological disease, cerebrovascular disease, depression, spinal cord injury, diabetes mellitus, endstage renal disease, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and obesity. Sites of pressure ulcer, risk assessment of pressure ulcer, and stages of pressure ulcer and dressing also described in the table format.
