Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to focus on the positions in surgery. This chapter covers the common positions in postsurgery, positions maintained during and after therapeutic/diagnostic procedures. Rationale for positioning is used to promote lymphatic drainage after removal of axillary lymph nodes, to prevent pain and bleeding, to reduce swelling in neck, to maintain patent airway and to decrease edema, to avoid the flexion of graft, and to prevent development of edema in operative side.
