Abstract

The cutaneous vascular lesions can range from superficial cherry angiomas to deeper hemangiomas and malformations to some abnormal leg veins. A large number of lasers (wavelength range from 532 to 1064 nm) and intense non-coherent pulsed light devices are now available for the treatment of vascular lesions. Pulsed-dye laser, potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP), alexandrite laser, diode laser, and neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) lasers, as well as intense pulsed light (IPL) are being applied in the treatment of cutaneous vascular lesions. There are various indications for vascular lasers that include both congenital and acquired conditions like facial telangiectasia, spider angiomas, Poikiloderma of Civatte, Port Wine Stain, hemangiomas, leg veins, etc.
