Abstract

Attitudes are evaluative statements relating to objects, people or events and thus reflect how one feels about something. Attitude is relatively enduring organization of beliefs around an object or situation, predisposing one to respond in preferential manner. Attitude is a mental and neural state of readiness, organized through experience, exerting a directive or dynamic influence upon the individuals’ response related to objects and situations. Features of attitude, nature of attitudes, functions of attitude, components of attitude, types of attitude, development of attitudes, attitude change, and factors affecting attitude change are also discussed in this chapter. In this chapter, short essay type questions and multiple choice questions along with their answer key are also provided.
