Abstract

Diagnostic testing in women with a multiple pregnancy is a complex clinical scenario that raises major ethical dilemmas for parents; in particular, the options for pregnancy management in that event only one fetus to be affected. Multiple pregnancy testing require specific counseling, with special mention of difficulties encountered, requiring separate route of approach depending on location of the target site. The possibilities of diagnostic errors should be informed. The patient should be informed about vanishing of one of the twin. The procedures for multiple pregnancies should be performed using separate sets of devices. Chorionic villous sampling (CVS) in a multiple pregnancy is a technically demanding procedure.
