This chapter mainly focuses on the small group learning in pharmacology. A small group can be defined as “a group of people with complimentary abilities who collaborate together to accomplish a common task for which they are accountable together.” Active participation, one-to-one interaction, development of problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities, encourages self-directed learning, two-way interaction, and team building are various advantages of using SGL. The group must try to understand group dynamics, i.e. how to behave in a group when doing an activity. However, conducting small group sessions is challenging too as a lot of background work is needed before starting the actual group work. Most of the group passes through various stages of dynamics. These stages have been named as forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning.
