This book focuses on practical approach to critical care in obstetrics. Critical care in obstetrics is the need of the hour to help decrease maternal morbidity and mortality. The Government of India is establishing high dependency and intensive care units skill labs across the country to help produce teams of healthcare workers with sufficient knowledge and skills to treat critically ill pregnant women. This book is divided into 2 sections that include obstetric critical care: management issues and near miss cases, which are further divided into 35 chapters. In this book appendix: checklist is also discussed. This manual presents topics in critical care in a concise and clear format. The book includes chapters as well as safety check lists. There is a section devoted to “near miss cases” which are taken from day-to-day practice. They illustrate to the reader the steps of clinical management that result in successful outcome of saving lives.
