The aim of this book is to focus on Clinical Record of Medical-Surgical Nursing. It is the basic knowledge of nursing techniques and principles that will help the students to plan an effective strategy for their patients. This book consists of 10 chapters. Chapter first discusses the basic contents of health and disease, changing health status and the general pathophysiological changes. Chapter second presents an overview of a client being admitted, transferred, discharged or going LAMA (leaving against medical advice) from a health agency. Chapter third presents the five-step nursing process that serves as the organizing framework for all medical-surgical clients. Chapter fourth discusses the health assessment. Chapter fifth explains the diagnostic evaluation of these patients and chapter sixth looks at the concepts of perioperative nursing. Chapter seventh on pharmacological nursing covers all the drug-related aspects of patient care. This chapter has a beautiful coverage of nursing components in drug administration. Chapter eighth examines the complex nature of operation theater nursing and chapter ninth presents the nursing case study and/or case presentation. Chapter tenth discusses the gadgets used in ICU. Assignments in medical-surgical nursing form the backbone of clinical experience. In this book six assignments are also discussed.
