Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) has been gradually accepted as one of the surgical method for the resection of pancreatic head lesions. However, high-level skill is required to perform it safely. One of the main reasons is the difficulty of dissecting the pancreatic head from the mesenteric vessels, that is, the superior mesenteric vein (SMV), the portal vein (PV) and the superior mesenteric artery (SMA), as well as the difficulty of pancreaticoenteric anastomosis. This chapter covers the operative procedures, procedures of resection, and procedures of reconstruction.
