Abstract

Abstract

This chapter deals with the discussion on dermatological pharmacology. Drugs used locally on skin and mucous membrane. Sometimes topical drugs intended for systemic effects and sometimes systemic drugs intended for effects on skin. Highly lipid soluble, low molecular mass, adequate concentration gradient, and adequate skin hydration are some properties of topical drugs. Dermatological agents, drugs for acne, and drugs for psoriasis are discussed thoroughly in this chapter.
