In this chapter we highlight some problems of today’s medicine and present the future of personalized medicine as a new medical paradigm. The relationship between medicine and religion, which has shaped the development of the society throughout human history, is discussed. This chapter covers the criticism of the western medicine, problems of healthcare, challenges in the functioning of the health system, impact on the healthcare-related industry and a look into the future, and personalized medicine. Personalized medicine is a path to a new and more effective medicine. One of the definitions states that personalized medicine is a medical model that emphasizes the use of information on an individual patient with the purpose of selecting or optimizing the patient’s preventative and therapeutic care. The purpose of personalized medicine is, among other things, to accurately answer questions about who should be treated and in what way.
