Abstract

This section describes comorbidities. Comorbidity is defined as the co-occurrence of one or more disorders in the same child or adolescent either at the same time or in some causal sequence. This section covers the effect of sacubitril/valsartan versus enalapril on glycemic control in patients with heart failure and diabetes, association between high and very high albuminuria and nighttime blood pressure, impact of renal function on the effects of LDL cholesterol lowering with statin-based regimens, triglyceride and HDL-C dyslipidemia and risks of coronary heart disease and ischemic stroke by glycemic dysregulation status, type 2 diabetes and osteoarthritis, urinary haptoglobin predicts rapid renal function decline in Asians with type 2 diabetes and early kidney disease, and management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk factors in the older adult patient with diabetes.
