Abstract

This chapter aims to present a brief discussion on natural resources. A natural resource term refers to material which come from natural environment and people can use to them. For example, air, water, fossil fuels, wood, wild life energy, minerals, etc. All natural resources on broadways can be categorized into renewable resources and non renewable resources. The humans use natural resources in various forms which are food and drink, mobility, housing and infrastructures, and basic needs. Forests are home of natural resources and are more blessing for humans. Deforestation, Timber extraction, and mining are the problems associated with natural resources of forests. Water itself is an important natural resource on earth as well as major component in maintenance of life on earth. Overutilization, water pollution, dams, acid rain, climate change, and drought are the problems associated with water resources. A mineral is an organic substance occurs naturally in the earth’s crust which extracts through mining. Mineral resources can be categorized into fuel minerals, metallic minerals, and non-metallic minerals. Food is a basic need of human as well as animal life. Humans consume various types of food. There are three major food resources i.e. the croplands, the rangelands, and the fisheries. Problems associated with food resources, effects of modern agriculture on food resources, and energy resources are also discussed broadly in this chapter.
