The significant objectives of telemedicine today are to create cutting edge telehealth tools and technologies, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery to medically underserved populations using telecommunication technology, to provide affordable and accessible medical specialty services, and to provide training of healthcare providers, clinical trainees, and students in health-related fields. Telemedicine in particular has become a more viable and feasible model for healthcare delivery with the advent of information and communication technology (ICT) platform. This chapter covers the impact factors of telemedicine in patient care, clinical studies, role of internet of things in diabetes, and role of artificial intelligence in diabetes management.
