This chapter mainly focuses on the acute cardiac care in pediatric practice. Cardiovascular emergencies in the pediatric population are a vast subject. It cannot be compiled in this limited space. This chapter provides six cases, which people face quite commonly in day-to-day practice, and which even a cardiologist engaged in adult-practice may be called upon to attend as the “best-available” person at that point of time. All six cases are discussed along with their treatments. Two well-illustrated flowcharts related to the pediatric tachycardia and pediatric cardiac arrest are also presented in this chapter.
