This chapter discusses the discharge procedure of patients in the hospital or referral patients. All the details are accurately and legibly displayed in the hospital patient discharge card by the inpatient department (IPD) staff in consultation with the treating doctor/consultant. The discharge summary is printed along with two copies of the clearance card and handed over to the patient/relatives. Clearance is obtained from the kitchen, IPD department, nursing, housekeeping and other concerned department.
