Abstract

This chapter discusses in detail the medications which are taken by the patient according to prescription including its administration process. Samples and home medications are prescribed to the patient by their consulting physician in previous admission to the hospital or elsewhere in the approved medical facility. Medication error have also been discussed that might be related to professional practice, healthcare products, procedures and systems. Even the disposing of medications has been detailed in the chapter such that there is no misuse. Labeling requirements are also discussed. Pharmacy is responsible for providing medications and the nursing superintendent is responsible for stocking and maintaining drugs on crash carts.
