Abstract

This chapter discusses the various assessments of risk, safety measures and reporting of the system and process failure. Assessment of the risk is the first step towards the management of the risk. Risk reduction is the decrease in the reduction of the hazard in healthcare organization. Interdisciplinary committee is the one that is headed by the safety officer that oversees the hospital. A safety manual is provided which contains the guidelines to ensure safety aspects in the hospital ranging from preventive to corrective measures that are taken. Preventive as well as corrective measures are followed by the employees. In case of emergency situations such as fire the reporting should be made either to the safety officer or at the reception. In case of reports of certain machinery failures complaints are lodged in the maintenance register, which is at the security or to the maintenance in charge. Risk assessment is conducted twice a year in order to eliminate the causes of any potential nonconformities.
