Abstract

This chapter discusses the manifold services that provide adequate quantity of safe, reliable, pure medical gases (oxygen, nitrous oxide, medical grade air, etc.) at the appropriate pressure at all outlet points with medical gas systems installed and piped into within the hospital. When any manifold gas equipment breaks down it is informed to the maintenance department and the records are always generated. Correct size piping is one of the most important aspects to be considered in designing system for central for medical gas delivery system. Undersized pipes may not give adequate pressure and flow under peak load. In view of the law, permission to smoke within the campus of hospital is not granted to any employees, consultants, patients, relatives, etc.
