Abstract

This chapter describes in detail the admission of the patient to the outpatient department (OPD), emergency cases, planned admissions as well as for unidentified people. There are certain rules and regulations to be followed while admitting the patient in such cases. Emergency cases are being classified according to trauma/road traffic accident (RTA), acute pain and medical emergencies: Estimate form for open billing has been given in the chapter as a sample. Cashless services are also provided for the patients having the claim. The chapter also discusses for the unidentified patient who is brought to the hospital in case of an accident, etc. that becomes a medicolegal case and the nearest police station is informed about it before starting the treatment.
