Abstract

This chapter covers stone retrieval forceps along with their silent features and uses. Cystolithotomy forceps have cupped blades with fine spicules or blunt serrations on their inner surface to hold the stone firmly. Only one finger bow complete, the other being hook like to accommodate all the four fingers. It is used for removing bladder stone during suprapubic cystolithotomy. Desjardin’s choledocholithotomy forceps are used for removing stones from the common bile duct (choledocholithotomy) and kidney (nephrolithotomy). Randall nephro/pyelo-lithotomy forceps are used for removing calculi from kidney, renal pelvis, and ureter.
