Abstract

Mother and child are intimately related. In this busy schedule, obstetricians are the first person to receive a baby during delivery. So, all should be trained in the art of neonatal resuscitation. For each baby at least two persons are required if resuscitation is required. In newborn resuscitation, look at temperature, airway, breathing and circulation. Newborns loose temperature rapidly by four ways such as conduction, convection, radiation, and evaporation. For maintaining temperature, keep the delivery room between 25° and 28°C, dry the baby immediately, wrap the baby or keep the baby in warmer or skin-to-skin contact.
