Abstract

This chapter seeks to familiarize the readers with radiology systemwide term description procedures. Mammography is defined as radiographic image and study of breast tissue, using photographic film, that does not require injection of a contrast medium. Thermograph is used to detect and record the heat present in very small areas of the body part being studied. Barium enema is a radiographic examination of the colon. An enema using a barium solution is administered while a series of radiographs is taken. For spleen scan, radioactive material is injected intravenously. This media is absorbed by the spleen cells in order to visualize the spleen. Respiratory system, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, urogenital system, female reproductive system, endocrine system, nervous system, and oncology are the other systems which are covered in this chapter.
