Abstract

This chapter deals with the discussion on pharmacology systemwide drug action. Anti-infective eliminate epidermal infections. They can be administered either topically or systematically. Anti-inflammatory drugs relieve three common symptoms of skin disorders; pruritus (itching), vasodilation, and inflammation. Keratolytic destroys and soften outer layer of skin so that it sloughed off (shed). Protectives and astringents Function by covering, cooling, dying, or soothing inflamed skin. Protective do not penetrate the skin or soften it, but form a long-lasting film. Integumentary system, gastrointestinal system, cardiovascular system, hematic and lymphatic system, musculoskeletal system, urogenital system, female reproductive system, endocrine system, nervous system, special senses organs, and oncology are covered throughout this chapter.
