Abstract

This chapter describes the practical summary of history taking and physical examination methods. There are two types such as general and special. The general examination deals with some or almost all the organs or the systems, while special examination is exclusively to the affected organ or system, e.g. it could be an eye, or abdomen, or liver and so on. This chapter covers the history taking, history of drug and injection, general examination, and physical examination. Physical examination, medical examination or clinical examination or more popularly known as a medical check-up, is the process by which a medical professional investigates the body of a patient for signs and symptoms of disease. It generally follows the taking of the medical history; an account of symptoms as experienced by the patient.
