Abstract

Autonomy is the person’s rational capacity for self-governance. Autonomous persons should be allowed to express their capacity for self-governance. Autonomy is the corner stone of human rights which in turn are broadly classified into two types such as negative liberty and positive liberty. Collective autonomy is of cultural significance in Asian countries (family, elders, husband and son) over individuals autonomy, though individual autonomy is the expected social norm. The doctor has ‘conscientious objection’ which can be exercised in nonemergency situation which is doctors view point.
