This chapter describes the psychological impact of infertility and role of counseling. Over the last couple of decades, the technological advancements in subfertility management have been many. The expansion of assisted reproductive technology (ART) options has given childless couples new hope. But amidst the scientific advances we sometimes overlook the psychosocial factors affecting infertile couples and they go unnoticed in the clinic. The need for counseling services in fertility clinics is well-recognized but often not stressed upon with equal importance as management of the condition.
