Abstract

Nurses may be wondering why we have to learn Anatomy. When the patient comes to clinic or nursing home or hospital, once the consultation with the doctor is over, it is the nurse who is going to deal a lot of time with them. In so many procedures nurse will be assisting the doctor. The nurse needs to explain the patients about their condition and what treatment they have to undergo. Some treatments are focused on the functions of organs and body. In order to understand what is wrong, first the normal structure and function of a particular organ should be understood. To develop good relationship between nurses and patients, the patient should place trust in nursing staff. Some of the procedures mentioned in this chapter may not be practiced by the nurses in India, but are practiced in abroad and may be helpful for those who go abroad.
