The aim of this book is to focus on the differential diagnosis in pediatrics. Diagnosis is the crucial first step in the journey of patient care. The entire treatment plan that a doctor may formulate depends on the outcome of this vital process. The concept of differential diagnosis came about primarily to act as a tool for ensuring error- free diagnosis. This book has been brought out under IAP President’s action Plan. There are 23 Sections with 195 Chapters totally. Each Chapter focuses on definition, differential diagnosis for the conditions themselves and their causes, history, clinical features and investigations leading to particular diagnosis. The chapters apart from the regular text are pertinently supported by explanatory tables and illustrations in the form of figures including algorithms. Important references for Further Reading also have been incorporated. The book will be useful for the pediatricians to guide them in day-to-day practice as well as for the pediatric residents.
